Trust God's Timing
Posted by Unknown at 7:15 PM 2 comments
Trusting in Gods timing can be very difficult and stressful sometimes but I have learned it is worth the wait.
If you're in a hurry for good things to happen to you and your family, you're not the only mom on the block who feels that way. But sometimes, you'll simply have to be patient.
God has created a world that unfolds according to His own timetable, not ours...thank goodness! We mortals might make a terrible mess of things, God does not.
Of course, God's plans do not always unfold according to our own wishes, or at the time of our own choosing. Nonetheless, we should trust the benevolent, all-knowing Father as we wait patiently for Him to reveal Himself. Until God's plans are made clear to us, we must walk in faith and never lose hope, knowing that His plans are always best. ALWAYS.Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act."
~ Psalm 37:7 ~
~ Psalm 37:7 ~
Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
Psalm 27:14
Psalm 27:14
But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

I hope you all have a wonderful and safe weekend.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Posted by Unknown at 11:28 PM 0 commentsThe Myth
Finding a lump in your breast means you have breast cancer.
The Truth
If you discover a persistent lump in your breast or any changes in breast tissue, it is very important that you see a physician immediately. However, 8 out of 10 breast lumps are benign, or not cancerous. Sometimes women stay away from medical care because they fear what they might find. Take charge of your health by performing routine breast self-exams, establishing ongoing communication with your doctor, and scheduling regular mammograms.
The Myth
Men do not get breast cancer.
The Truth
Quite the contrary. Each year it is estimated that approximately 1,700 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 450 will die. While this percentage is still small, men should also give themselves regular breast self-exams and note any changes to their physicians.
The Myth
A mammogram can cause breast cancer to spread.
The Truth
A mammogram, or X-ray of the breast, is one of the best tools available for the early detection of breast cancer. It CANNOT cause cancer to spread, nor can the pressure put on the breast from the mammogram. Do not let tales of other people's experiences keep you from having a mammogram. Base your decision on your physician's recommendation and be sure to discuss any questions or concerns with your doctor.
The Myth
Having a family history of breast cancer means you will get it.
The Truth
While women who have a family history of breast cancer are in a higher risk group, most women who have breast cancer have no family history. If you have a mother, daughter, sister, or grandmother who had breast cancer, you should have a mammogram five years before the age of their diagnosis, or starting at age 35.
The Myth
Breast cancer is contagious.
The Truth
You cannot catch breast cancer or transfer it to someone else's body. Breast cancer is the result of uncontrolled cell growth in your own body. However, you can protect yourself by being aware of the risk factors and following an early detection plan.
The Myth
Knowing you have changes in the BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene can help you prevent breast cancer.
The Truth
While alterations in these genes in men and women can predispose an individual to an increased risk of breast cancer, only 5% to 10% of patients actually have this mutation. This is not an absolute correlation. Like your age or having a family history of breast cancer, it's a factor you just can't control. But you can let your physician know, perform regular breast self-exams, and focus on the fact your chances of not having this disease are greater than 90%.
The Myth
Antiperspirants and deodorants cause breast cancer.
The Truth
Researchers at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) are not aware of any conclusive evidence linking the use of underarm antiperspirants or deodorants and the subsequent development of breast cancer.

Always Put God First
Posted by Unknown at 9:59 PM 1 commentsIn everything you do, put God first, and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success.
Proverbs 3:6
Beauty queens wear crowns, star athletes receive trophies, and successful business people accumulate wealth. Whether or not you are successful in the world's view, God has a crown for you. If you put God first in all you do and are directed by him, your efforts to serve him will be crowned with success.

As We Pray
Posted by Unknown at 9:39 PM 4 commentsJesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God.
Luke 6:12
Find a nice, quiet, peaceful place and just pour your heart out to God, that is my definition of praying, of course we all have different ways to pray, none of which are wrong, but this is my preferred method. I have recently started trying to get in the habit of keeping a prayer journal and looking up relevant scripture as I pray. I am really enjoying this and I also think it will be nice to go back and look at how God has answered those prayers. The most important thing to remember is that for the miracle of prayer to begin operating in our lives, we must finally do only one thing: we must pray!
As always I wish you all a blessed day!

Praise
Posted by Unknown at 8:28 PM 6 commentsLet everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Psalm 150:6
Well I got a call that someone found my wallet today and all the way there I prayed that the money would still be in it, of course it wasn't and I was upset at first, but as I thought about it I realized that even without the money it is truly a blessing and I really think that it was a wake up call to me from God that I need to be more careful and responsible and also that I should be thankful and praise Him that I got all my identification cards back.
No matter your circumstances, you can praise God for who he is and his everlasting love for you. He is the Creator of the universe, the Redeemer of your soul, and the Life in your life. How awesome is God. (Taken from "A Mother's Prayers For Her Children" by Nancy Ann Yaeger)

Steve Jobs Turtlenecks

Ok, I heard this on the radio and it really disturbed me, why don't more people idolize our awesome God more and other people less. I mean no disrespect to Steve Jobs, he did so much for all of us but seriously it just makes me think how shallow people are.

Steve Jobs Turtleneck Sales Skyrocket: Comfy or Creepy?
Apple isn't the only business getting the spotlight because of Steve Jobs' untimely passing. St. Croix Shop, a men's clothing boutique in Minnesota, began selling its black turtleneck shirts in bulk simply because Jobs was known to purchase dozens of them every year and wear them almost every day.Taken from http://www.sodahead.com/united-states/steve-jobs-turtleneck-sales-skyrocket-comfy-or-creepy/question-2210993/?page=2

Depending on God
Posted by Unknown at 9:18 PM 2 commentsTrust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) in the Lord and do good; so shall you dwell in the land and feed surely on His faithfulness, and truly you shall be fed.
Psalm 37:3Prayer Requests
Posted by Unknown at 11:15 PM 0 comments
I have a couple of prayer requests and hope that you can find some time to pray over them with me.
Lord, I pray for Amber Nicole Maddox that you would heal her of her cancer Lord and that the tumor they have found would just disappear in your name and Lord I also pray that her family would have strength and great faith in these hard times they are facing, in Your Son's Holy name Lord, Amen!
O Lord my God, I cried to you for help, and you restored my health. ~ Psalms 30:2
Have compassion on me, Lord, for I am weak. Heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony. ~ Psalms 6-2
Lord please lift Jodie Forester up and let her biopsy come back normal and just let her body be healed by your loving hands Lord, Amen!

So Frustrating
Posted by Unknown at 10:46 PM 2 commentsThis is exactly how I feel this weekend, I have been trying to find a job for some time now and then on Friday I lost my wallet with my debt card, cash and all my important cards in it. I have prayed someone might find it and return it but unfortunately in this day and age I don't think that is gonna happen. I am looking forward to tomorrow and going to church, I know it will make my weekend so much better and just lift my spirits.

Views Of Heaven
Posted by Unknown at 10:55 PM 3 commentsHave you ever sat and pondered what Heaven will look like when we get there? Is it a magical place in your visions? Is everything covered in clouds? Or maybe all gold? Some adjectives that I think of when I imagine Heaven are safe, clean, and colorful. By colorful I mean bright, sunny, like fields of beautiful flowers, with rolling hills and the greenest grass. I often wonder what others think of when they think of Heaven other than the most important part, FINALLY SEEING OUR GOD.
John 14:2 In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?
Revelation 22:1-5 Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.
Schooled in Scripture
Posted by Unknown at 10:08 PM 0 commentsDr. Tony Evans
The reason we don't experience God is because we know too much. If we were as schooled in Scripture as we are in the world, there would be no spiritual dropouts.
For the Lord gives skillful and godly Wisdom;
from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.
James 3:15 Such "wisdom" does not come down
from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil.

NCIS
Posted by Unknown at 8:05 PM 0 commentsOk so I really don't watch too many shows but this one happens to be my absolute favorite one. I love the way the characters interact with each other, they have so much chemistry together. If you haven't watched it I suggest you give it a try.
NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigative Service) is more than just an action drama. With liberal doses of humor, it's a show that focuses on the sometimes complex and always amusing dynamics of a team forced to work together in high-stress situations.

Jonah - A study by Priscilla Shirer
Posted by Unknown at 5:27 PM 1 commentsSo three weeks ago we started a new woman's study called Jonah, Navigating a Life Interrupted and so far it has been great. I will tell you what the back of the book says.
They shock us; they shake us; they compel us to change. You can't escape life's interruptions, but you can change your perspective on them. Dive into the study of Jonah and discover that what you see as an interruption may truly be God's divine invitation to a life so much bigger than you can imagine.
If you have never taken a Priscilla Shirer study I really recommend that you do, she is so full of life and a pleasure to listen to.
Interruptions. They come in all sizes and shapes. All colors and shades. Good and bad. Though we wish to avoid them, every season of life seems to include a few - sometimes on either end of the same day. As we're coming up for air from the devastation of one, a fresh and exciting interruption takes our breath away, challenging us with new responsibilities, leaving us feeling inadequate and outmatched. Sometimes they make us wonder if God even cares. ~ Priscilla Shirer
Here are some things taken from http://www.ffruits.org/v03/jonah.html
(Jonah 2:3-6 KJV) (3) For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me. (4) Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple. (5) The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head. (6) I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.
Verse 5 above emphatically states that the waves surrounded him and even took his life (i.e., soul) as he was in the abyss of the sea. Verse 6 clearly states that Jonah went down to Sheol at the “bottoms of the mountains” and the bars of the earth closed around him forever. JONAH WAS DEAD!
The following two verses provide some very significant details to the story:
(Jonah 2:1-2 KJV) (1) Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly, (2) And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.
It is very important to note that verse 1 has Jonah praying to God from the belly of the fish. This is after the three days that Jonah spent in Sheol, and Jonah has been resurrected in the fish’s belly. In Jonah’s prayer after three days, he relates in verse 2 how he cried out to God from the belly of Sheol (translated “hell”) because of his affliction, and God heard his prayer. Jonah states in the last part of verse 2:6 above “yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God”. This is an explicit statement that God brought Jonah back to life from “corruption”. The Hebrew word for “corruption” means the grave or the pit. God brought Jonah back from death.
The following passage of Scripture in Jonah is highly significant, for it shows that Jonah repented of his disobedience just before he fell unconscious and died:
(Jonah 2:7-10 NASB) (7) "While I was fainting away, I remembered the LORD; And my prayer came to Thee, Into Thy holy temple. (8) "Those who regard vain idols Forsake their faithfulness, (9) But I will sacrifice to Thee With the voice of thanksgiving. That which I have vowed I will pay. Salvation is from the LORD."
If it were not for Jonah’s prayer in Jonah 2:2-9, we would not know for sure that Jonah had died in the sea and descended into Sheol at the foot of the mountains. We would also not know that Jonah repented of his unfaithfulness just before he died. God heard Jonah’s cries up from Sheol and brought him up from the grave in the fish’s belly. At the end of Jonah’s prayer from inside the fish, God causes the fish to vomit Jonah up upon dry land.
The true Biblical facts about Jonah’s death, burial and resurrection point to an important sequence of events in the New Testament. Jonah dies because of sin, and his spirit descends into Abraham’s bosom in Sheol, where it remains for three days and three nights. His body is entombed in the grave of the great fish’s belly for the same three days and three nights. After three days and three nights, Jonah is resurrected inside the tomb, and he promptly exits the tomb when the jaws of the great fish are miraculously opened.
